A thousand year old temple at Maanampadi ,about twelve kilometer from Kumbakonam , Tamilnadu , India.
The temple is presently in a dilapidated condition but till stands tall by its rich and laudable Chola heritage. The sculptures installed around the temple thousand years ago speaks volume about the great Chola dynasty nad their dedication to temple architecture and devotion to Lord Siva.
The smiling Nataraja worshipped by emperor Rajendra Cholan , son of the great Raja Raja Cholan. We can see the Raja Raja chiseled to our left along with his family and to our right his officers. They , as a whole , are standing with folded hands worshiping Lord Nataraja. This scene takes us thousand years back and replicates those days’ happenings inside this very temple
Dakshinamurthy is sitting majestically under a banyan tree with an awe-inspiring smile. As usual ,Muyalagan is down under his foot . How the smile is sublimely carved?
Nandi’s cool and calm posture
Parvati held fondly with Siva’s left hand, both with eternal smile and we can not get off our eyes from the scene.
